Individual Psychotherapy

Be inspired to live your life, and not let your life live you

Individual Psychotherapy

Have you noticed a sense of something missing, or not quite right, in your life? Are you feeling overwhelmed in a world too full of stressors, experiencing a major personal crisis, wrestling with recovery, or blocked by the uncertainty of unexplored trauma?

Psychotherapy can help by providing tools for building a meaningful life through authentic relationships with self and others. Being deeply seen can bring relief when you have never felt understood or safe to speak about your personal struggles.

In my practice I honour every person’s unique world of experience and personal journey. I provide an empathic environment to explore your story, mirror your unconscious patterns and help to prepare and support you in whatever goals that you set in your life.

My part is to provide the container and tools that assist you in this process of self-inquiry and change.

Resolution and a feeling of safety can happen when you bring emotional insight into body awareness. I use an Integral approach to psychotherapy, that includes a psychodynamic and a body-based practice, with the goal to assist you in feeling more yourself as you integrate self-awareness, presence, and resilience into your everyday experience.

The fee for Individual Therapy is $120/ 1 hr. sessions

Limited sliding scale (unavailable at this time)

How is dreamwork used in therapy?

One of many ways to do personal work in therapy is through your dreams. For some people dreams are remembered and create endless fascination.  Going into dreams can unlock a secret chamber within ourselves revealing many possibilities for insight and self-acceptance. Fragments of dreams, memories, daydreams, or fantasies can provide the same portals.

Images and feelings are the language of the unconscious mind. Our dreambody produces the feelings and perceptions of places filled with people, nature, and things that seem to have a life force of their own.

The parts of ourselves that we repress, marginalize, or dissociate, take up residence in that shrouded, mysterious section of the psyche that can’t really be fully contained. The material shows itself in what we project out unto others, or unknowingly berate ourselves with everyday, or compress into our bodies. It also comes out in our dreams. What an opportunity to get a handle on our human multiplicity.

Through the process of dreamwork you can unearth the emotional pain you have been unable to fully process in a way that is safely guided.

It can help you reframe your experience and provide solutions to problems you’ve been ruminating over.

Exploring dreams can bring out new skills in how you approach taking in information, and how you can tolerate not having all the answers.

When you dream you can be the witness within the dream and in so doing create an objective stance that can be emmulated in waking life. You are both the one dreaming and the one comprehending the dream.

Dreams can help to guide you through the many passages and transformations experienced in a life with greater awareness.
